AV design for Kearney’s new HQ in the iconic Art Deco Adelphi building located on London’s embankment.

Recursive designed specified tendered and project managed the entire AV and IT infrastructure systems in Kearney’s new HQ in the iconic art deco Adelphi building located on London’s embankment. With some of the best views of London from the 12th floor, and as a historically beautiful building it was imperative that the 21st century technology did not distract from the building or the views.

Recursive were appointed directly by the global management consultancy firm Kearney after being recommended to them by the project managers, Colliers International and successfully winning a competitive tender process.  Kearney needed solid sensible technology including IT infrastructure and AV to support team in their new office fitout in the amazing Adelphi building on Embankment, London, UK.  Working with the architect and fitout contractor 21C, we worked together to design the technology and infrastructure to a tight budget, ensuring that they needs of the various operational teams were met.

Our design utilised the latest conferencing technology which provides high quality audio microphones and loudspeakers with HD cameras in a compact configuration. With a simple connection of a USB and HDMI cable soft codecs such as Skype or Webex on users’ laptops get the best possible in room experience.  We were also responsible for designing the IT infrastructure including Wi-Fi WAP placement, which was done using specialist measuring tools to predict where the WAP’s should be located to ensure complete coverage. Our designs and specifications were then competitively tendered to specialist technology contractors and Recursive managed the whole installation, commissioning and sign off process to ensure quality and reliability was maintained throughout.

Since the project has been completed and Kearney staff have moved into their new building the overwhelming response has been about the reliability and ease of use of the systems which have been deployed.  So much so that we have been appointed to continue with Kearney on a long-term contract to assist with their inevitable expansion and allowing the technology to grow as their needs and wants change to match the business needs.

Kind words from our client;

“We had not had any experience of Recursive prior to our tender process. We were recommended to put Recursive onto the tender list alongside 4 other firms by our project management firm. We then interviewed 4 of the 5 firms. Paul and Richard came across extremely well in interview and communicated with ease on the questions we put to them. They were far more “level headed” and “down to earth” on the practicalities of what our requirements were. We really enjoyed interviewing them and felt very comfortable with their pragmatic working style, so it was quite an easy choice to appoint them after interviewing all 4 firms. Their fee was more or less on a par with the other firms, so it really did come down to the right fit for Kearney and level of knowledge that they displayed. They have delivered everything they promised, and more so far. We have had a tough pull on our budget since our initial design, so they have worked diligently with us to see where we can save costs without compromising the level of AV and IT infrastructure we require in such a high-profile office. It has not been an easy job for them, but they still deliver with a smile on their face and are not scared to be honest with us if we are going off in the wrong direction. They are definitely leaders in their market, know what they are talking about and appear to be ahead of the game with knowledge on what is coming to the market in the near and mid future, which is very helpful when planning a fit out with a long lease.”
